WHO KILLED ISAAC????

Blood dripped from the machete, and the smell of death hung in the air, Opuene looked at Isaac’s body, and tears filled her eyes. She threw the machete on the floor, and bent down to check for a pulse. A voice in her head, told her that he was obviously dead, considering the amount of blood in the room. She had no idea what to do. She searched her bag for her phone, but stopped herself before she dialed the number. She had to think.


1 MONTH EARLIER


Isaac walked into the office cafeteria with Bukki. Opuene looked up from her food, and shook her head. She couldn’t believe her eyes. So Isaac thinks he can make a fool of me in this company, she thought to herself. After dating her for five years, he had finally engaged her, in a public engagement that was talk of the town then sat her down barely two months to their wedding, telling her he needed a break. And now he was flaunting another girl in front of her and the entire company. She was really furious. She stood up and walked towards them.

Bukki couldn’t believe her luck. So this Isaac that she has been eyeing all this while is even interested in her. She would make sure she rubs it in the face of that Opuene girl. She has been waiting for this opportunity since the first day she resumed work here, and saw Isaac and Opuene in the cafeteria, being all lovy dovy. Isaac is such a handsome man, and she knows he would be her ticket to climbing up the ladder in this company. She looked up at Isaac and smiled. It was such a brilliant idea to suggest that they eat in the cafeteria and not go out for lunch.

Isaac tried his best not to look in the direction of their table. He was sure Opuene would be seated there alone. He also knew that that was the reason Bukki wanted them to eat in the office cafeteria. To rub it in Ene’s face, and stake her claim on him. He didn’t mind, Bukki was a means to an end, and he was certain that he would be getting what he wanted very soon. He held her waist, as she ordered her food from the counter. He mustn’t look towards Opuene’s direction.

Opuene walked to the counter, and pulled isaac’s  hand from Bukki’s waist.                                                                                                         “And what do you think you are doing? So you think I would let you get away with all this? What are you doing with this thing?” Opuene shouted
“I take exception to that. Who are you calling a thing?” Bukki asked
“Look opuene, don’t create a scene here. This is an office environment remember” Isaac said at the same time
“Oh really? Is that all you have to say? I would deal with you, in fact you wont live to tell the story” Opuene shouted, leaving the cafeteria in a hurry.


Andrew waited by Bukki’s car, he knew today was the day all her lies would come crashing on her head. It was fate that made him pass this way today. It was also fate that made someone to be driving out of the hotel in a good moment for him to see her car parked inside. He knew something has been different with Bukki for some weeks now, but dismissed it as the euphoria from her new job. But obviously he was wrong.

Isaac felt like singing for joy. Finally, he just got what he had been waiting for. He felt awesome, energetic and alive. That she was good in the sack, had been an added bonus.
He couldn’t remember the last time he felt such a rush. She walked in front of him, wiggling her waist, but Isaac paid no attention. He had already hit it big time.

Bukki wiggled her waist, thinking about how much fun she had just had. She thought about her next move, which would be to ask for a transfer from her boring department, to his. She knew that being in his department had its perks, and sooner than later, when management saw how good she was, she would get a raise and maybe even a promotion. She was walking on air, after years of searching for a job, she finally landed a good one, and the opportunity to climb higher very fast presented itself. She was lucky indeed.

“Bukki so this is it abi? This is what you have turned into” Andrew said the moment they came out of the hotel lobby. Bukki was shocked and fell to the ground.
“My husband, its not what you think” she said, tears rolling down her eyes.
“Andrew!!!” Isaac said, looking confused.
“Isaac? You? You are the one shagging my wife?” Andrew responded.
“My God! I didn’t know she is married! Bukki… you are married?” Isaac said.
“You two know each other?” Bukki asked, crying even louder

Andrew looked at his wife on the floor, and Isaac. He stood silent for a minute, as each of them came to terms with what was going on.
“I will deal with both of you, even if it costs me my life” Andrew said. With that, he got into his car and drove off.

Isaac paced the length of the large and well furnished sitting room. He looked really perplexed. Obi came down the stairs and walked towards Isaac. Isaac grabs him on his throat, ready to strangle him..
“ Do you know what you have done?” he asked Obi
“Did you know that she is Andrew’s wife? Did you?” with that he released him.
“Is that why you want to choke me to death? Take it easy man” Obi said, arranging the collar of his shirt.
“Look, that is why it is a game. You know this. Stop whining and give me the evidence” he continued
“You went too far Obi. Too far. Gosh, I cannot believe this. You are really a mad man. You are insane. I should have known there was a catch, it was just too simple a task. Jeez man” Isaac said
“Well, I have been called worse. Do you have the evidence or not?” Obi asked, sitting on a chair and putting on a laptop by the side of the chair. Isaac brought out a flash drive from his pocket, and handed it over to Obi.
“Very good. You would receive your money in a moment” Obi said, trying to access the flash drive.

Bukki looked at the screen of her phone, in disbelief. She couldn’t believe something so simple, could turn out so badly. She watched herself in the throes of passion, and her anger at Isaac boiled in her. She hated him with all her being. She wondered what angle he was playing, recording what had happened between them and putting it on the internet. She had lost her husband already, and with this video online, she had also lost her pride and dignity, Isaac must pay for all this. She had nothing more to lose.

Andrew drove like a mad man. It was time for Isaac to pay for what he had done to his happiness. And to compound the whole issue, he just saw the video clip of his wife online, an embarrasment to his name. No way. This was an insult to his manhood. He must deal with Isaac.

Bukki closed her eyes, but she still saw blood everywhere. Isaac was dead. She shivered at the thought of all the blood.


Serves him right, Andrew thought. The image of Isaac in his pool of blood was ingrained in his memory. He got what was good for him.
