THE INFANT 3

She seemed oblivious to their presence.

"Jesus!!!" Tunde heard His wife's voice say.

There was an eerie rumble in the heavens.

Tunde took a hesistant step towards Victoria and the baby.

"Vicky??"He heard his own Voice say.

No answer.

He came a little closer and called out again.

Long silence.

Then came another  rumble from above.

Suddenly,the lights came back on.

Victoria slowly raised her head to  look  at them.

She had a weirdly clueless expression on her face.

"When did you guys get home?"she asked innocently.

Tunde and Gloria exchanged curious glances.

The air in the room suddenly felt warmer.

Bright flash of lightening.

"W-why are y..you...what the hell are you d-doing?"Gloria asked incredulously.

Victoria stood up slowly, with the baby in still cradled in her arms.

She  was oblivious to  her  was nakedness.

"I felt he was hungry...."she said staring at the Child lovingly.

Her stare seemed....empty, totally devoid of anything else but  adoration for the bundle of joy in her arms.

Long silence.

"Give him to me,Vicky!!!"Gloria said making a cautious approach.

Victoria's reaction was instantaneous.

"Don't touch him!!!"Came her threatening tone as held on to the Child protectively.

There was a sudden dangerous look in her eyes.Like a Cobra's gaze before it strikes.

Tunde tried desperately to avert his eyes from Victoria's exposed body.

He was torn between arousal, confusion and fear.

Was there a manual for this sort of situation? He wondered.

"You...were supposed to take him to the authorities."He heard his own voice say as he looked away.

"Weirdest thing...."Victoria began,as she moved towards the stair case.

The side of her thick hips brushed passed him sending an erotic jolt through his body.

He hoped Gloria hadn't noticed.

"...I can't remember anything from after you guys left the house this morning...."She said as she climbed up the stairs.

Tunde tried with difficulty not to stare at her buttocks as she did.

He could feel his wife's eyes on him.

"Aren't you going to do something????"came Gloria's urgent whisper.

"....all I remember is just waking up on the couch with the baby....weird right?"Victoria was saying almost playfully.

"Victoria!!!"came Tunde's loud voice.

She paused at the top of the stairs.

"Come back down here, and give me the baby"he said firmly.

Long silence.

"I'll take the baby back in the morning...goodnight Tunde"She said and walked to her room.

Gloria and Tunde stood in the living room staring after her for a long time staring after her.

"Did she just call me,'Tunde'....?" He asked with shock in his eyes.

Gloria was silent as she continued to stare at the top of the stairs.

Tunde tried with a lot of difficulty to compose himself.

"I'll not have that baby in this house one more night" he said under his breath.

"I dunno,...."Gloria began with a mixture of confusion and worry on her face.

".....never seen her like this....maybe she's high or depressed...or something"She said shaking her head.

"There's something wrong with her...."He said raising his voice. There went his composure again. He thought.

"..... there's something wrong with that baby....it's eyes..."
"...just relax,Tunde...keep your voice down"Gloria urged.

"This is all your fault!"he said heading for the stairs.

Gloria's eyes seemed to pop out of their sockets.

"...wait...so it's my fault that my sister was naked in our living room....?"

"....well if you hadn't confused our house for an orphanage,...."He began raising his voice again.

"...so I should've left an infant on our doorstep in the rain abi.....and what does the baby have to do with my sister's....behaviour??? it was Gloria's turn to be loud.

He turned around sharply.

"There's something wrong with that baby...."He said pointing upstairs.

"...like what,..being homeless?"She said folding her arms across her breasts.

He scoffed in a gesture of surrender, and resumed his walk up the stairs.

"....Victoria's probably drunk or something!!!"She yelled after him.

"I'm taking the baby away myself, first thing in the morning"came his voice from the top of the stairs.

Gloria just stared after him with a worried expression on her face.

Seconds before she dozed off,Gloria felt guilty for raising her voice at her husband.

She hated it when they fought. She hated it more that it was because of Vicky.

What was wrong with that girl anyway?Gloria wondered.

As she lay there next to him in their bed,she felt a sense of emptiness in her.It had been ages since they'd raised their voices at each other.

She felt really bad about it.

She eyed his sleeping form, and decided to make it up to him some how.

Then sleep came.

1:05AM.

The rain had stopped but there still silent flashes of lightening in the heavens.

Tunde felt his wife's hands on his skin. Her lips touched his,and in that moment any misunderstanding they'd had faded away.

She was ontop of him.

Fabric gave way to skin as they shared their bodies in the coolness of the night.

"I'm sorry"he whispered as she  bowed her head to kiss him again.

"...I'm sorry too"Came Victoria's whisper in his ear.

He froze.

In that instant she leaned back just as a flash of lightening shot through the room.

He saw her face.

Victoria!!!

Then he saw the knife in her hand.....it was one of the Carving knives from the kitchen.

It was the largest of the set and arguably one of the sharpest.

He took in all this,a split second before the sharp blade tore and broke through his skull.

His last thought was...."Gloria!"

Then darkness swallowed him.

Long silence.

Victoria remained seated on Tunde for a little while longer.

She regarded the lifeless bodies  Gloria and Tunde.

It had almost been too easy she thought.

First she'd tip-toed into the room, slit Gloria's throat and watch her bleed out as she held her down.

It was just amazing how strong her arms felt all of a sudden.

It was really nice.

Gloria had choked and bled all over the bed.It had taken her forever to stop struggling...and just die.

Victoria had been worried Tunde would wake up but her New Friend...her beautiful Special Friend had promised  to keep Tunde asleep until she was ready to kill him.

Victoria smiled at herself as she stepped out of the room.

Her "Friend"always kept his promises. He loved her and she loved him. There was nothing she wouldn't do for him.

".....I will make all your pain go away..." he had promised her.

She knew he was telling her the truth. She knew she couldn't let ANYONE take him away from her.

Ever since she'd woken up on the floor of her bedroom, everything just seemed clearer.

She realized who she was and what she had to do.

It was an awesome feeling. She sighed
No fear, no doubt......just peace!!!

Now that they were out of her way,she could attend to more pressing issues. She concluded.

She barely heard the loud metallic Clatter of the bloodied blade as she dropped it on the Marble floor of the corridor.

She entered the room and gathered up her "Friend" she kissed his forehead wished she could hold him forever.

But her Friend needed her help.As sad as the task was, she had to help.

What were friends for.,...right?

She was still naked when she took him down stairs and opened the front door.

She didn't feel the coolness of the air or the blood sucking insects on her skin.

All she thought was;
"My friend needs me, I have to help him"She whispered to herself as she turned the key in the ignition.

Her Friend was at the back seat, he loved the back seat.

She drove for hours, searching for the chosen house.

"....you will know when you see it..." Her Wise Friend had whispered in her head.

She felt a profound  sadness, knowing this was goodbye.

She fought back the tears.

In the short time she'd spent with her Friend, she'd felt a connection with him  that was just unnatural.

Suddenly, nothing else mattered but His happiness.

It would hurt her to let him go.

Finally, she saw the house. She knew it as soon as she saw it.

Judging from the state of the lawn and the cars in the drive way, this was a rich man's house.  Part of the Trail her friend had told her..... Predestined......

"....here!!!",her Friend said.

She stopped the Vehicle, got her Friend out of the car, and walked slowly towards the house.

She couldn't feel the wet concrete against the soles of her feet.

She couldn't feel the cold breeze on her naked skin.

All she felt was sadness in her heart
"....I will make all your pain go away..." He Spoke inside her head again as tears rolled down her cheeks.

As she dropped him at the door step of the house, as he whispered something inside her head again.

She felt a sudden surge of excitement .

She couldn't believe the joy she felt.

She kissed his forehead and walked away just like he'd told her.

She heard his cries as she drove away.

He was such a genius. She thought.
As she hastily drove away, she just couldn't believe the honour he'd given her.

Twenty-Minutes later,
She'd found the perfect place.

A free way with  fast moving traffic.

She parked and got out of the car.

She soon spotted a fast Moving Truck.

Perfect..... She thought.... Predestined for honour

Her timing was perfect...the Large Vehicle was less than a few metres away when she leaped into its path.
The driver barely had time to react.
The Truck Bashed into  naked flesh shattering and crushing  bones upon impact.

She died instantly.

Think twice before you open your door to a stranger at 4AM in the morning.
You'll never know......
