HUSBAND AND WIFE.....smh

An email from a wife to her husband.

I know you're upset. You have every right to be. I know you feel like you've been manipulated, but just know that everything I did was because I love you and the children.
Please don't blame Christie, it wasn't her fault, I talked her into it. I guess being my best friend has it own occupational hazards. I don't know how much she told you, but her having sex with you, was solely my idea not hers.

It took a lot of convincing on my part before she even agreed to this. So don't blame her, she isn't a monster.

If you must blame someone, blame the person you've been married to for five years....... blame me.

A normal marriage is hard enough.

What we have is almost impossible.

Half  the time,we are continents apart because of our jobs.

Yes,we're both successful, we have two beautiful children and all......

But who are we kidding?

Infidelity was bound to be an issue someday.

Yes I confess, I have been unfaithful to you. I am currently seeing someone who knows about my marriage and my children.

I know this is painful for you to hear,Henry but we haven't been together in over a year. Skype Facebook,Bbm and Facetime don't count.

I've been beating myself up for cheating on you but my dear it was inevitable.

Believe it or not, I don't want to leave this marriage . I still love you. .... I just felt since Christie was in nigeria, and her being my best friend,.........

Well,maybe I didn't know what I was thinking.

I knew you would cheat someday..... I just
rather you did it with someone I knew.

I talked her into having sex with you.

Bae, I have no regrets for what I did because, you are ........A MAN and you have needs.

If my crime is catering to the needs of my husband, then I consider myself guilty.

I forgive both of you.

I guess, when I get beck to Nigeria, we would talk.

But till then, remember that I love you and I don't want to leave this marriage.

 Your Darling Wife
Becky.

HUSBAND'S REPLY

It pains me to read these words.I honestly don't know what to say.Where did we go wrong? How could this have happened?I feel bad for what I have done.Though you say its okay,I doubt if things would ever be the same with us again. Why would you and Christie even agree to something like this? And who's this guy  you're seeing?

Well,....this confession of yours is a bit problematic for me, because I and Christie have been having an affair even before you and I got married.

So I just have to ask;

Just how long ago did the two of you make this "arrangement?"

I've been living with this guilt for a long time.

Staring into the eyes of our children hurts me....I really don't know what to do.

I really hope we can move past this.

I just hope its not too late.

We really need to talk face to face.

Please hurry back so we can save our marriage.

I don't want a divorce.

I await your return.

Your Darling husband.

Henry.

  2. Wow!! Difficult scenario. Would not want to be in either of their shoes. But here is my two 'kobo' on the issue.

Its interesting how both of them are suddenly keen on talking when they meet in Nigeria and yet never had the time to work on their marriage. Confirmation that all the money in world does necessarily make a good marriage; remember Prince Charles and Diana. People forget that after all the glitz of the marriage ceremony, the marriage itself requires hard work. When you love some one (or have strong enough feelings) to marry them, it is imperative that you continue to work at it and never take each other for granted; that's why its called 'a labour of love'. Once you marry someone it should be assumed that you have decided to expose all your inadequacies to that person and vice versa. When they say nothing should put the marriage asunder I think it also includes making money.

Why did they not make time for each other even if it means travelling together or why did one of them not give up their career to be with the other? They could not do this but had time to basically cheat on each other. Cheating requires effort, planning, money, communication [which is sometimes coded by the 'Cheater' and 'Cheatee'] and time. Imagine if Becky and Henry had invested all this resource in their marriage. If they do and it does not work then they [depending on their religious or cultural inclinations] need to pray to a higher being for divine intervention or divorce. Despite the fact that she is presently cheating on her husband and arranged with a friend to have an affair with her husband she does not appear keen on returning immediately to Nigeria. Henry on the other hand despite his so called angst at the affair he has had with his wife's best friend even before the arrangement his wife made refuses to take the bull by horn by going to meet his wife where ever she is to sort out their marital problems; even if it means going with the children. People often make the mistake of thinking that long distance relationships can work for every one. In my own very personal view there is just so much you can get with Skype, BBM and all the other modern gadgets that aid communication. Physical proximity is a key element in building relationships.

    Lol

They both played themselves. I don't know why men cheat blantantly with friends of their wives. Its too close to home. She sure had her guilt strong enough to right a wrong but hubby dearest was fine living with d guilt. They should have that talk but the scale weighs more on d husband's part. It's on the woman to choose to forgive husband and trusted friend

    1. I kinda disagree that the husband is more at fault although it seems so. I think the woman knew the kind of man she married that's why she sort for help to satisfy him. The wife of that kind of man should not be in a distant marriage. Like Sir T said, marriage relationship can only work when seen by the couple as a labour of agape love

  15. Christie is a demon, she played it like she was forced into the act even when she had been banging the hubby long time ago. The husband doesnt deserve forgiveness because he was never even commtitted faithfully from the start. Wife abeg this should ease your guilt and help u move on from these two back stabbers. Two kids and they are still shagging wao thats some affair and christie sef she no want marry her own husband?

  23. There's a movie titled 'family friend'. It's soft porn. Produced some 15yrs ago. Based on true life events. The family friend was servicing everyone in the family. Male and female. Young or old. While giving out a much needed advice. In the end she left but by then, d family that had been torn apart, had mended. D reason for this narrative is simple. If u don't have Christ, a 'family friend' might be the way to go. But Christie has to go. She's the sacrificial lamb if that marriage has to work.

  28. nothing much...as long as they are willing and ready to forgive each other and make it right, that's fine and like Miz Tee and co said, Christie's got to go careless her feelings...but what if she's pregnant already?? oh well! they'd just have to accept it and house her with care someplace else other than their home but what if she persists and insists on living with the man whose baby she's carrying?? okay another long email on that one....

  29. Hmmmm!!! He started an affair with Christie before they got married. They need to go back to drawing board nd start making some compromise . Move closer to each other, even if it means one getting another job. WHAT A MESSY SITUATION!!!!
